Study from your own notes and files

Add your own content after you sign up and it becomes a private study set that only your login can see. It is always free.

How it works

Three steps from your notes to a study set

  1. Add it

Upload a file, paste text, import a public web link or record a lecture.

  2. It becomes a private study set

Your material is organized into a study set that only your login can see.

  3. Study it

Ask the tutor, make flashcards, take quizzes and practice tests, and review.

Limits and honesty

What to expect

Limits

  • Up to 6 study sets per student.
  • Up to 8 MB per file.

Not supported today

  • Scanned or image-only PDFs, and audio or video files. There is no OCR and no server-side transcription. Use text-based files, paste a transcript, or record with your browser's speech recognition.
  • Open-ended essay grading. The writing coach gives feedback on style and coverage, not grades.
  • Other-language interfaces.

Several of these are coming soon. See the Coming soon list on the features page.

How answers are made

There is no AI language model behind StudyGrasp. Answers are assembled from your own material and the course notes, and always cite them, so you can check the source.

FAQ

Questions about uploading

Is it really free?

Yes. StudyGrasp is always free: no paywall and no credit card.

Can I upload my own notes? Who can see them?

Yes. After signing up you can upload files, paste text, import a public web link or record a lecture, and it becomes a private study set that only your login can see. You can delete it any time.

What file types work?

PDF, Word, PowerPoint, Markdown and text files, up to 8 MB per file. You can also paste text, import a public web link, or record a lecture with your browser's speech recognition. Each student can have up to 6 study sets.

Does it work with scanned PDFs or videos?

Not yet. Scanned or image-only PDFs and audio or video files are not supported, because there is no OCR and no server-side transcription. Use text-based files, paste a transcript, or record with your browser's speech recognition instead.

Make StudyGrasp about your own material

Create a student account, add your notes or pick a demo course, and ask your first question. Your progress is saved so you can pick up where you left off.

Always free. No paywall, no credit card.
